Why we started walking into classrooms
CyLanK was founded by three friends whose paths took them on assignment across Calabar, Warri, Port Harcourt, and Lagos. In each city, they met young women and girls from low-income backgrounds carrying the same quiet burden — no reliable way to afford menstrual pads, and no one talking about it openly.
"Menstrual hygiene is a fundamental aspect of the well-being and dignity of young women and girls — yet for those in economically disadvantaged communities, it remains an unmet challenge."
What started as a shared observation among friends grew into CyLanK — A Girl Child Aspiration: a mission to put pads directly into the hands of the girls who need them, and to make menstrual health something schools can talk about without shame. Founded in 2024, CyLanK now operates at interstate level across Nigeria.
